Z -- WARD UPGRADE PHASE II FOR PATIENT PRIVACY SOL 626-30-97 DUE 041897 POC Susan Hilley, 615-327-5312 This is a solicitation notice for Ward Upgrade Phase II for Patient Privacy at the Department of Veterans Affairs, 1310 24th Ave., S., Nashville, TN. A firm, fixed price contract will be awarded to a single prime contractor. Work will include furnishing all labor, materials, supplies, equipment and supervision for the demolition of existing patient wards, construction of new patient rooms and clinical space, and renovation of the areas including all necessary facilities, utilities, and subsystems for a complete, operational patient unit. New heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system will be installed in a mechanical penthouse on the roof of 4A/B. Sprinkler protection and asbestos abatement of pipe joints, transite panels, and flooring are included. The renovated area is approximately 19,000 square feet. Cost range is between $1 million and $2 million. The Standard Industrial Classification code is 1542. All work is to be completed within 365 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. Plans and specifications will be available on or about 3/18/97. Bid opening is at 2:00pm CST on 4/18/97 in Room 1-G134 at the VA Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee. There will be a site inspection and pre-bid conference at 9:00 a.m. CST on 4/18/97 in Conference Room 3D-103 at the VA Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee. The $100 fee must be in the form of a money order, cashier's check, or a certified check made payable to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
