The rails and ties were removed years ago. Rehab consists of brushing, grading and compacting the existing grade, scaling loose ceiling rock in 8 existing tunnels, repairing the concrete lining in one short tunnel, constructing a by-pass road around one tunnel (approx 1700 feet) which will require hard rock excavation and possible blasting, installing jersey barriers, installing steel guardrail posts and approximately 52,000 lineal feet of 3/8 inch cable on 7 old railroad trestles, replacing approx 10 percent of the wood plank catwalks on the same 7 trestles, including site grading, installing 2 vault toilets, picnic tables, parking barriers and other misc items.
