Z -- EXPANSION OF LOBBY, MAIN POST OFFICE, PETERBOROUGH, NH SOL 082530-97-A-0055 DUE 040497 POC John Nielsen, Project Manager (860) 285-7120 On or about Wednesday, March 4, 1997, the United States Postal Service, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT will issue a solicitation to expand the existing lobby at the Main Post Office, 23 Grove Street, Hillsborough County, Peterborough, NH. Sealed offers are due on or before Thursday, April 3, 1997 no later than 4:00 p.m. EST. The project will be awarded to the contractor who submits the best combination of technical and price proposal. The technical proposal will outweigh the price proposal. The estimated cost of the work is between $200,000.00 and $300,000.00. The contract completion time is ninety (90) calendar days after the award. THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC OPENING OF THE PROPOSALS AND THE RESULTS OF THE ADVERTISEMENT WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED UNTIL AWARD OF THE PROJECT. There will be a preproposal conference held on Thursday, March 13, 1997 beginning at 9:00 a.m. on site (23 Grove Street) in the Postmaster's office to discuss the specifics of the project. Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly suggested. Site visits may be arranged by contacting the Postmaster, Nancy McDuffee, at (603) 924-3251. Work includes, but is not limited to, providing all labor, materials and equipment required to expand the existing electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. The work includes demolition (interior and exterior), flooring carpentry, painting, suspended ceilings, electrical/lighting, plumbing, HVAC equipment/controls, ductwork and minor roof work. The successful offeror will be responsible to identify and remove all asbestos containing material and lead paint in those areas subject to disturbance by the required demolition and new work.
