NIEDERHAUS, tnieder@pica.army.mil. This is a market survey requesting information on existing Non-Developmental item 35mm cannons. The purpose of this research is to assess the accuracy of larger medium caliber cannon systems to assist the government in developing requirements for future platform weapon systems. The result of the research will be used to define the system performance requirements of future ground vehicles and will not be used to preselect weapons for any future platform. Responses are requested to PROVIDE THE 35MM CANNON WITHOUT COST AND PAY FOR ALL TRANSPORTATION COSTS TO ARDEC. ARDEC has a limited quantity of 35mm ammunition which will be used for the test. Whether or not this is sufficient for the planned testing will be dependent on the number of respndents to this offering. Therefore in addition to the cannon, the respnses shall also state whether or not the respondent can also provide up to 500 rounds of TP ammo for testing at no cost to the government. ARDEC will perform live fire research and evaluation on the 35mm cannon at the in-house ATF. Testing will be in two phases- Hardstand and Platform. During each phase, live fire test data on recoil, dispersion, accuracy,... etc., will be collected and analyzed. Accuracy under hot and cold environmental extremes will also be assessed Test results and data will be made available to the respective companies along with any engineering comments or recommendations determined by ARDEC engineering personnel.
