The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake site, China Lake, CA intends to issue a Firm Fixed Priced, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity, Requirements contract for Ready-Mix Concrete, Rock, Sand, Gravel, and GUNITE for the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake site, and the Naval Air Weapons Station, China Lake, Ca. This requirement is to deliver to a remote area roughly the size of Rhode Island, most roads paved, some in rough terrain, grades up to 9%. Batch plant must be located within five miles of Hwy. 178 and N. China Lake Blvd., (Ridgecrest/China Lake, Inyokern areas) for government pick-up of product. Government will place oral and written orders not later than the day prior to the required delivery for deliveries during normal work days. Weekend, Holiday and Emergency ordering provisions will be included in the contract. Government will accomplish all forming, rebar work, and site preparation. The Naval Air Weapons Station, China Lake is located in a remote area approximately 150 miles northeast of Los Angeles, 90 miles east of Bakersfield, and 150 miles south of Mammoth Mountain. Some delivery requirements will require over 100 miles round-trip with ready-mix or aggregate in a "LIVE" state. Required response time may be the day after an order is placed, or in emergency, an hour or two. The anticipated contract will be for 3 years, with an anticipated award date of 15 May 1997.
