COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 7,1997 PSA#1797U.S. Railroad Retirement Board, Purchasing Division, Room 1230, 844
North Rush St., Chicago, IL 60611-2092 70 -- INTERACTIVE VOICE RESPONSE INTERFACE POC Paul T. Ahern (312)
751-7130 (Voice) (312) 751-4923 (FAX) The U.S. Railroad Retirement
Board (RRB) seeks information about the availability of firms who can
provide an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system, Intranet, or other
interface (hardware and software) that would allow our employees the
ability to access information in their own personnel records. The
interface solution would also allow the agency's employees to edit and
update the information elements in the database, for their own
personal records, to which they are authorized access, such as (1)
changes in address, (2) open season health benefits plan enrollment, or
(3) their investment plan (Thrift Savings Plan). The proposed interface
solution/application must fully interface with the RRB's IBM 3090-400J
mainframe-based Human resources Management System software -- "Human
Resources Manager", "Payroll" and "Position Control" by TESSERACT,
which operates in a Computer Associates IDMS database environment.
Companies must have previous experience working with the TESSERACT
system and provide client references in their response. Vendor
responses shall include the following information in explaining their
capability to provide the application/system and any associated
services: (1) a listing of TESSERACT clients with whom they have
worked, including (a) a description of the work completed and the
project scope, (b) the time frame from award of contract to full
implementation of the project, (c) actual (or estimated) contract
prices, and (d) each TESSERACT client's contact person's name and phone
number; (2) information on related General Services Administration
Schedule (GSA) or other Federal agency contracts including (a) the
contract number and (b) the agency's contact person's name and phone
number. Interested firms must submit their written response to this
Request for Information (RFI) not later than 15 calendar days from its
publication in the CBD. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR OFFERS OR BIDS
NOR IS IT A REQUEST FOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT. No solicitation document
exists. No telephone calls will be accepted. The RRB shall not transmit
acknowledgment of receipt of vendor submissions. (0063) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0351 19970307\70-0007.SOL)
