Communications and Intelligence Combined Intelligence Publishing
Service and the Intelligence Systems Board Intelligence/Systems
Secretariat are jointly sponsoring an Intelligence Community Electronic
Publishing Conference and Technical Exposition. This ``Unleashing Your
Potential -- Publishing on the Cutting Edge'' Conference will be held
at the Defense Intelligence Agency DIAC Building TIGHE Auditorium on
Tuesday and Wednesday, March 25 & 26, 1997. Dr. Ruth David, Deputy
Director of Science and Technology at the Central Intelligence Agency
will kickoff Day 1 with her keynote address. She will set the tone for
publishing in millennium. Jennifer Carrano, Director of Intelligence
Policy, Plans, and Programs OASD (I&S) will kickoff Day 2 of the
conference with her keynote address. She will discuss the evolution of
publishing oversight in the DoD and the impacts that current and
future technology is having and will have on the building of a
cohesive, interactive publishing and dissemination environment. Topics
to be addressed by intelligence community keynote speakers include:
Webmasters of Government, the Virtual Library, Copyright in the Digital
Age, New Horizons in CD-ROM and Multimedia, DoD and Government Success
Stories, Standards for Digital Efficiency, SGML, XML, and HTML, and
Future Cyber Publishing. In addition to the conference portion of the
event, a Technology Exposition will take place with products and
services relating to Publishing and associated technologies. Areas of
interest are: text, multimedia, digital libraries, groupware, GIS,
CD-ROM, graphics, digital printing, data warehousing, standards, web
publishing, training information management, and much more. All
Intelligence, DoD, government, and government contractors invited are
