Construction of a new 27,126 square foot Postal facility which features pile with concrete foundation; steel columns; beams; joists with metal deck and built-up roof; brick with metal stud backup; gypsum board with paint; metal doors with frames; VCT floor; ceramic tile floor; 2x2 and 2x4 lay-in ceiling; millwork; full service counter with retail store; box lobby; concrete/asphalt paving. The site is located on Lapalco Boulevard west of the Scweghmann's Supermarket which is located at the intersection of Lapalco and Barataria Boulevards in Marrero. Estimated cost range $2,300,000.00-$2,500,000.00 and construction time is 240 calendar days. Successful offeror must submit their Subcontracting Plan for Small and Minority-Owned, and Woman-Owned Business initially and thereafter with their progress payment requests. The contractor must subcontract with minority business firms in an amount aggregating not less than 10% of the total value of its subcontracts. A 20% proposal bond is required on all proposals. The successful contractor will be required to provide 100% Performance and 50% Payment Bonds within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of award. Offers will be received in this office, prior to, but not later than 3:30 p.m. on April 4, 1997. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available on March 5, 1997 at a cost of $120.00 per set (NON-REFUNDABLE) payable by check or money order only.
