Trawl-mounted sensors will be mounted on bottom trawls and report following parameters to vessel: 1) vertical opening of bottom trawl; 2) distance between the center of the headrope and footrope; 3) horizontal distance between the wingends; 4) horizontal distance between the otterboards; and 5) speed at which the trawl is moving through the water (+/- 0 -- 3.0 M/sec) and the angle at which the relative flow is impinging on the sensor's face. NOAA will purchase Scanmar RX400 receiver, color monitor, HC4A 144 master distance sensor, HC4A 110 master distance sensor, MTR 144 distance minitransponder, MTR 110 distance minitransponder, H4SW hydrophone, and related accessories.
