adcb rdwrite cbd 97-1153, (W-338 SN008207). The Consumer Product Safety
Commission (CPSC) is soliciting proposals on a full and open
competitive basis from qualified organizations to conduct a child
anthropometric pilot study to verify the validity of the 1975 and 1977
CPSC child anthropometric data. Firms should have or have access to
computer programming, survey sampling, statistical analysis and program
management. The purpose of this survey is to determine if CPSC data
taken during the period 1975-77 should be updated. In that period, two
extensive statistically valid surveys were conducted on approximately
8,000 children ranging in age from birth to 18 years. One survey took
40 measurements on the full age span. Since twenty years have elapsed,
CPSC is interested in determining whether this data is still accurate
or whether a new comprehensive study is required. A pilot study is
proposed that will require ten basic measurements on a statistically
valid sample of children using classical measurement techniques. RFP
CPSC-P-97-1153 will be issued on or about March 24, 1997 and will close
on or about April 24, 1997. All responsible sources may submit a
proposal which shall be considered. No telephone requests will be
accepted. (0065) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0004 19970310\B-0002.SOL)
