General Organization for Greater Cairo Water Supply (GOGCWS), in the
Arab Republic of Egypt, requests bids from U.S. firms for twenty seven
(27), 10 Metric Ton Diesel Trucks. The required twenty seven (27)
trucks shall be six cylinder turbocharged diesel trucks with high
tensile steel truck bed and sides and manual transmission to be
delivered CIP Alexandria, Arab Republic of Egypt. Bidders must have
representation for supply of spare parts and service in Egypt. A Fixed
Price Host Country Contract with GOGCWS is anticipated. Payment will
be made in U.S. Dollars by USAID/Cairo through a direct letter of
Commitment under USAID Grant No. 263-1093. Interested firms may obtain
copies of the Invitation for Bid (IFB 23485-1C17) from Black & Veatch
International, P.O. Box 8405, Kansas City, Missouri 64114, Attn.:
Patrick Feltman. The IFB is expected to be released 15 days from the
publication of this notice. Bidders will be given 45 days from the date
of issuance of the IFB to prepare and submit their bids. A public bid
opening will be held at the time, date and address specified in the
IFB. Late submission of bids will not be considered. Bids must remain
valid and open for acceptance for a minimum of 120 days from the date
set for bid opening. The Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt and
the Agency for International Development encourage and welcome in this
activity the participation, to the fullest extent possible, of
minorities and women both as individuals and as members of contracting
or sub-contracting firms. In this respect, it is anticipated that the
prime contractor will make every practicable use of such personnel and
