23 -- MARKET SURVEY FOR LIGHTWEIGHT, COLLAPSIBLE, LOAD CARRYING CARTS SOL W13G07-CBD7-0031 POC Alan Goldberg (508) 233-4244 (Site Code DAAK60) The U.S. Army Soldier Systems Command (SSCOM) is interested in locating manufacturers with capabilities of producing lightweight carts. Manufacturers of carts or manufacturers capable of producing lightweight carts (e.g. cart manufacturers, bicycle manufacturers, bicycle trailor manufacturers, wheel chair manufacturers) are sought. The carts must be lightweight and collapsible for ease of transport. The cart must allow for an individual soldier to transport loads weighing as much as 250-300 pounds over cross-country types of terrain. The cart must also be able to support a wounded soldier and allow for the transport of that soldier by another soldier. Hands free operation while transporting loads with the cart is desired, but not mandatory. SSCOM is searching for INFORMATION ONLY from manufacturers or dealers interested in providing carts. Interested firms should submit information of their products and capabilities in the area. Information should include available technology, product literature and illustrations, and relevant company background /experience.
