Description: Plating Rectifier, variable voltage and current supply of 0-48 volts and 0-750 amps direct current. Shall be standard commercial with options, rectifier and its components shall not be used or sub standard in any way. Rectifer shall be water cooled. Rectifier shall be constructed with the following characteristics A: Input power 480 volt ac + or -- 10% B: Output shall be dc volts with no more than 5% ripple over operating range. C: Rectifier shall provide constant current and voltage control within 1% of the set point. D: Rectifier shall operate at full load current and 1 % of full load voltage. E: Rectifier shall control output voltage with scr's. (Other control voltage may be allowed at discretion of engineer) F: Enclosure shall be chemical resistance and appropriate for installation in a plating shop. G: Diodes, scr's, transformers, and other components shall be designed and tested for indefinite operation of the rectifier at full load. Rectifier control system shall provide the following: A: Controls will be of solid state design B: A manual remote control box will be provided, the control box will be capable of being mounted 200 ft from the rectifier, and will be constructed of chemical resistant materials. C: Didgital voltage and current shall be provided on the remote control box. D: The rectifier will have a computer interface box. Computer interface box shall have 4-20ma outputs of current and voltage and 4-20ma inputs for control of current and voltage. E: Over temperature and over load cut out switches shall be integrated into the rectifier control circuit. F: Adjustable voltage ramp controller shall be provided on the remote control box to ramp up the voltage from 0 to a set voltage over an adjustable time range, 0-10 minutes. Operation and maintenance manuals, the proposal will also provide for three (3) each operation manual, maintenance manual and repair parts list with prices included for each of the new equipment items. The manuals shall include information on how to modify any associated software in order to make changes that may be necessary in the operation of the system. Automated statements regarding availability of written solicitations do not apply to this acquisition. Please ensure solicitation number is on your mailing label. The approximate issue/response date will be 10 Mar 97. The anticipated award date will be 25 Mar 97. Oral procedure will be used for this solicitation. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered. This proposed procurement is under a 100 percent small business set aside, the size standard for which is 500 employees. An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor, concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern.
