63 -- SITE SECURITY ENHANCEMENT IN RUSSIA POC David Staudt, Negotiator, (703) 325-9210, Edward L. Archer, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-5028. This effort is part of an ongoing Department of Defense (DoD) Cooperative Threat Reduction Program (CTR) of which the Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) is assisting. The objective of this effort is to provide physical security equipment related to the security of nuclear facilities. This effort will provide 50 kilometers of security fencing and the necessary support equipment for installation. In addition to the security fencing system, a complete microwave security system will be supplied for each kilometer set of fencing. The particular fencing and microwave security systems are designed specifically for the Russian Ministry of Defense. By this, the equipment meets all technical and physical demands of security systems in climates that range from -50 degrees celsius to +50 degrees celsius. The equipment is designed to function specifically within Russia, using Russian standards of manufacturing and when installed, using standard Russian power sources. Equipment will be bundled in sets and transferred to the Russian Ministry of Defense at the contractor facility. Installation will not be part of this contract. The contemplated period of performance is six months. DSWA plans to award a sole source contract to TENZOR. DSWA believes that TENZOR possesses the existing expertise and facilities to produce the equipment to meet this program requirement within the time required by DSWA and available funding. TENZOR is currently producing this equipment and supplying the Ministry of Defense with these products.
