Brown Contracting Officer (703) 767-5477 Defense National Stockpile Center is seeking asbestos abatement companies to perform the following requirements: (1) Remove and package 1,951,999 pounds of amosite asbestos, stored in two steel tanks, at Savanna, IL, (2) Dismantle and dispose of these tanks including the foundations, (3) Provide all operational services and clean-up, (4) Environmental assessment and (5) Transport and dispose of packaged asbestos in an approved landfill. The asbestos is in a free, unpackaged state stored in two steel tanks. The solicitation is anticipated to be issued on March 21, 1997.
