Procurement, 200 Third Street, Room 207, Parkersburg WV 26101-5312 D -- COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN SERVICES SOL RFQ97050 DUE 032597 POC Point
of Contact, Rebecca Thompson, 304-480-7974, Contracting Officer,
Jeanette Biddinger, 304-480-7963 Subject to final approval, the Bureau
of the Public Debt, US Access Board, intends to acquire through
commercial item acquisition, on a sole-source basis through CADD
Microsystems, CADD services to finalize drawings for the American with
Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines Manual, assemble and layout
the document, and provide a complete copy of the manual in computer
disk format. This proposed sole-source award precludes duplication of
effort and cost and ensures the completion within stringent Government
deadlines. The contractor shall revise a balance of 75 CADD drawings
to be consistent with the previously revised 175 drawings. This
includes modifying graphic conventions, including dimensions, so that
all drawings are uniform in style and appearance. In addition,
approximately 40 other CADD drawings shall be revised according to
instructions from the Access Board. The contractor shall manipulate the
images of all 225 drawings through use of Photoshop, Illustrator, and
Cork Express graphic software packages in order to add from one to four
tones of gray shading used to highlight spatial requirements common to
most drawings. The contractor shall correct any inadvertent
distortions of drawings that may occur in exporting them from CADD. The
contractor shall assemble and layout the document, including
pagination, importing all graphics into written text provided by the
Access Board in WordPerfect 6.1. The complete document will total
approximately 175 pages. The contractor shall provide a complete hard
copy to the Access Board for review. The contractor shall make all
necessary changes resulting from the review and submit a final complete
copy in both hard copy and on disk. Expected project completion time is
a total of 8 weeks. All affirmative responses must be in writing and
must be accompanied by sufficient documentation to clearly show ability
to comply with all the above requirments. If no affirmative written
response is received within 5 days, to the effect that comparable
services are available, and that it is more advantageous to the
Government than obtaining these services through the proposed
contractor, a sole-source award will be made. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT
IS AVAILABLE. See Note 1. (0069) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0030 19970312\D-0007.SOL)
