U.S. ARMY RESEARCH LABORATORY/ASSOCIATION OF OLD CROWS (AOC) EIGHTH NATIONAL HIGH POWER MICROWAVE TECHNOLOGIES CONFERENCE The U. S. Army Research Laboratory, Adelphi, Maryland, and the Association of Old Crows (AOC) will present the Eighth High Power Microwave Conference April 8 -- 10, 1997, at the Applied Physics Laboratory's Kossiakov Conference Center at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Al Kehs, U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL), will chair the conference and Dr. Pat Vail, Philips Laboratory, will chair the technical program committee. Lt Gen John E. Miller, Deputy Commanding General of the US Army Training and Doctrine Command, will deliver the keynote address. The format will be similar to HPM7 with service and Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) representatives presenting the plans and goals of the individual services and DSWA. Topics will include an update on the foreign threat, the status of source and component technology, results of recent susceptibility experiments and simulations, hardening technologies, and support efforts such as databases, modeling and simulation techniques, and methodology. Attendees will have the opportunity to informally tour HPM facilities at both ARL and the Naval Research Lab, as well as the University of Maryland. The SECRET/US ONLY conference will prove to be the most interesting conference of 1997 for those interested in using or defending against RF/DEWs.
