N0463A-97-Q-20016 DUE 032497 POC Mr CHRIS DIEHL, CONTRACTING OFFICER,
(904) 230-3100 The Navy Experimental Diving Unit, Panama City, Fl. is
seeking sources to procure the following via SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION
PROCEDURES: Commercially available Closed-Circuit Breathing Apparatus
(UAB, or rebreather), capable of maintaining a constant partial
pressure of oxygen at 1.3 ata in either a nitrogen or helium
background, and working at depths down to 300 FSW. A highly desirable
attribute is the ability of the rig to be programmed to maintain other
constant partial pressure of oxygen. The rigs are to be used in the
"N.E.D.U." experimental environment as platforms to provide specific
gas mixtures to in-water divers. This project is not evaluating UAB's
for general Navy use. The potential acquisition quantity is small (six
(6) to ten (10) rigs total). This project is not designed to develop
a UAB, but to use an existing commercially available product. Technical
