Provide professional engineering services for health care design at the VA Hospital, Hines, IL. Services may include, but are not limited to, design services, including: evaluation of existing hospital space utilization or critical space and functional deficiencies, development of strategy options for restructuring hospital to an outpatient orientation, departmental space program development, preliminary cost estimating, market feasibility analysis of utilizing under used assets to determine their highest and best use and potential market interest. Special emphasis will be given to firms with extensive health care design experience and knowledge of current industry standard in delivery of health care services, especially in the areas of outpatient ambulatory care, including outpatient surgery. Estimated cost for this Design/Evaluation/Study is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. Area of consideration is restricted to 100 miles of the Hines VA Hospital, Hines, IL. Submit two (2) copies of SF 254 and SF 255 with appropriate data. Selection criteria will be based on (1) past performance on similar projects, maintaining project schedules and project budgets; (2) Overall design experience and capability with Architectural, mechanical and electrical renovation projects; (3) Qualifications of staff to be assigned, with special emphasis on field personnel to be utilized; (4) Knowledge in design and construction requirements; (5) Cost control effectiveness; (6) Ability to produce specifications on a 3.5 disk for WordPerfect 5.1, ability to produce specifications on a CAD system fully compatible with Auto CAD Release 13.
