Enforcement Administration is seeking to identify qualified sources to
provide the acquisition of an Ion Mobility Spectrometer. The
spectrometer shall not exceed 75 pounds in weight. The spectrometer
shall withstand routine air and/or ground freight shipping. The
spectrometer shall detect cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine,
amphetamine, phencyclidine, tetrahydrocannabinol, and various other
drugs. The spectrometer shall have a sensitivity level of 1 10
nanograms for drugs in the positive mode and a sensitivity level of
less than 0.5 nanograms in the negative mode. The spectrometer shall
have a detector which operates in either the positive or negative mode.
The spectrometer shall operate on 110/220 VAC with an option available
to operates on DC power. The spectrometer shall have an automatic self
calibration function. The spectrometer shall have no less than 20
programmable audio-visual alarms with the detect substance identified
on an LCD readout. The spectrometer shall have a sample analysis time
not to exceed 10 seconds. The spectrometer shall be available with
optional software and a PC to plot plasmagrams of the analyses
conducted and statistics of the analysis parameters. The spectrometer
must be able to accommodate sample disks for analysis which have been
collected on a Barringer DC remote sample unit. Supplier must provide
adequate technical support. The spectrometer must be portable to allow
deployment in non-laboratory locations requiring no more than 60
