Engineering Logistics Center is soliciting bids on a 100% small
business set-aside basis from qualified organizations to award an
indefinite-delivery contract for bilge and tank cleaning services.
Services may require performance to meet a gas free condition.
Certification of gas-free condition must be made by a marine chemist.
Services will be done on vessels at berth or at dry dock that are
located at the U.S. Coast Guard YARD, Curtis Bay, MD 21226. The
contractor must be able to perform services within twenty-four hours of
verbal notification. These services are considered commercial. Bilge
cleaning services include removal and disposal of waste and/or
contaminated sludge oil, fuel, other contaminated liquids, and all
debris. The contract will be awarded for a one year period, with a one
year option period. The SIC Code for this requirement is 7699.
Interested small business concerns are encouraged to submit a request
for solicitations via facsimile (410) 762-6056. In order to be added to
the mailing list, requests should be submitted to the Procurement
Office not later than fifteen (15) days after the date of this
notification. It is estimated that solicitations will be issued fifteen
days after the date of this notification, and the solicitation opening
date will be thirty days after the issuance. This Notice is for
informational ~purposes for Minority, Women-owned and Disadvantaged
Business Enterprise: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to
assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
