On or about 28 March 1997, this office will issue Invitation for Bids for the construction of KITCHEN RENOVATION, BUILDING 105, NEW BRIGHTON, MN. Bids will be opened on or about 28 April 1997. This solicitation is unrestricted and open to both large and small business participation. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact Kent Wood at the 88th Regional Support Command, Attn: DCSEN, 506 Roeder Circle, Fort Snelling, MN 55111-4009. Phone (612) 713-3816 Fax (612) 726-1405. The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) Renovation of existing 6,600 SF building which houses a dining room area and food preparation area. Work includes partial demolition of interior walls, ceiling, food preparation equipment, plumbing fixtures, electrical equipment, dry-pipe fire protection system, and heating and ventilation system. New installation work incudes food preparation equipment, plumbing fixtures, electrical distribution, roof mounted heat ventilation and air conditioning units, wet pipe fire protection system, ceiling, walls, and insulation. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 300 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. All requests for solicitation packages should be made in writing and no later than 14 days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished if supply is available. It has been determined that the number of sets be limited to one (1) per firm. An order blank for ordering plans and specifications is furnished below.
