Site Surface and Subsurface Decommissioning in support of the Department of Energy, Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) Program. The effort will involve the use of subcontractor-furnished labor, material, equipment, tools, supervision, and transportation, required to perform surface and subsurface decommissioning of the DOE's Weeks Island SPR Site, in New Iberia, Iberia Parish, Louisiana. The work will include fabrication, installation, cleaning, removal, salvage, disposal, and abandonment-in-place of tanks, pumps, mechanical equipment, piping of diameters 2 inches through 36 inches, pipe supports, foundations, structural steel, instrumentation, electrical equipment, electrical circuitry, and related accessories and appurtenances, and the installation of 68 subsurface, cement bridge plugs in casings with diameters of 4 inches through 24 inches, and 20 above-surface, inflatable bridge plugs in casings with a diameter of 30 inches. The work to be performed is best classified under Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code 1629, (Heavy Construction, Except Dredging, Not Elsewhere Classified). The magnitude of this requirement is anticipated to be more than $3,000,000.00, and will be an unrestricted procurement. A solicitation is expected to be issued around the second week of April, 1997.
