Graff, Contracting Officer Correction: This action originally publicized in the CBD dated 2/14/97 was corrected on amendments dated 2/19/97, 3/5/97 and 3/11/97. This is the fourth amendment. Include with your proposal acknowledgement of all amendments by date. The closing date is extended to 3/18/97. The specification is amended to revise the statement from "DC shall have box section tine guide openings in the base for safe handling & transport by a 20,000 lbs capacity forklift." to "DC shall have box section tine guide openings in the base for safe handling & transport by a 20,000 lbs capacity forklift. The forklift blades are 7-1/4", 6' long and fork thickness is 3" and tapers to zero. The tangs can be spread apart 63" from outside to outside of blade. The maximum height the forks can reach is 17'." The specification is also amended to delete "(no greater than 34") center to center". The following is for clarification purposes only: "Does 'certification of pad eyes and lifting lugs' mean we are to provide calculations for the 5 to 1 safety factor on the pad eyes and the attaching structure?" No calculations are required, however, certification in the exact wording "(Company name) certify that lifting lugs & padeyes provided . . . . ultimate material strength.", as stated in the solicitation must be provided.
