58 -- ATM UPGRADE OF TACTICAL CIRCUIT SWITCHES DUE 041597 POC Mr. R. Lo, 908/532-5997, PM JTACS, ATTN: SFAE-C3S-JTC-TMD, Bldg. 749, Fort Monmouth, NJ 07703-5000 E-MAIL: CECOM Acquisition Center, defazioj@doim6.monmouth.army.mil. This is a Market Survey attempting to identify qualified vendors capable of performing the non-recurring engineering, production of equipment, shelter integration, installation services, spares, data items, training, and fielding services required to incorporate the Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) technology into a large number of tactical circuit switches of the Army's Area Common User System. The vendor must be able to provide a field installable upgrade kit that uses commercial ATM switching to improve the current tactical packet network throughput capability and also provides a switched tactical video teleconferencing capability. The upgrade kit shall be capable of being applied to the Army's AN/TTC-39D, AN/TTC-46, AN/TTC-47, AN/TTC-48, AN/TTC-50, and AN/TTC-51 tactical circuit switches as well as Line of Sight (V)3 radios. The tactical circuit switches involved have all been upgraded with the JCS directed and certified Routing Improvement software and hardware. The upgrade shall include all necessary bandwidth improvements to the transmission systems fielded at Echelons Corps and Below (ECB). In addition to providing the aforementioned improvements, the upgrade shall not degrade backward compatibility to any interface currently supported by the switches listed above, including fielded transmission systems. As the government does not own the full technical documentation and data rights to the identified equipments, potential vendors must possess or obtain the required technical information and rights. Potential qualified vendors must also possess and demonstrate an intimate knowledge of both the Mobile Subscriber Equipment (MSE) and AN/TTC-39 families of circuit switches. Vendors must provide the following information, in writing, to PM JTACS, ATTN: SFAE-C3S-JTC-TMD, Building 749, Fort Monmouth, NJ 07703-5000. Further information can be obtained by calling Mr. R.
