The Department of the Interior (DOI) requests technical information from the vendor community on commercially available Travel Management System software designed to operate on personal computers in a local area network environment. Additionally, we request your review of our preliminary description of the component parts of an automated travel management system, in order to confirm that a product would be commercially available. Any suggestions or alternate approaches to meeting our requirements would be appreciated. General travel system and technical information, in addition to information on installation, training, maintenance and operation of the system, is requested in response to the automated travel system description from private industry. A copy of the 5 page preliminary description is available from the USGS EarthFax, automated fax-on-demand system. The response may be in as much detail as organizations are willing to provide. Any commercially available pricing information is also requested. This request is not a formal RFP and NO contract will result from this synopsis. Any subsequent solicitation will be synopsized prior to its release. All responses should include three copies of all information submitted and contain sufficient technical documentation and descriptive literature to sufficiently describe hardware requirements and software capabilities.
