COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 14,1997 PSA#1802METHOD FOR EVALUATING MALE FERTILITY We have discovered an acidic, 22
kD sperm protein, SP-22 (Continuation-in-Part/Patent Cooperation Treaty
#PCT/US97/01725 filed January 29, 1997), that is significantly and
highly correlated with fertility (p<0.0001; r^2 = 0.83) and whose
concentration in an insemination sample is highly predictive of
fertility. We are seeking to establish licensing or cooperative
research agreements (CRADAs) for applications of this protein and/or
its antibody as: 1) contraceptive agents, 2) a tool for selecting
superior sires for artificial insemination, 3) a screen to select those
candidates for whom assisted reproductive technologies would be most
helpful or to add to sperm samples to enhance the success rates of
these technologies, and 4) a screen for toxicity resulting from
exposure to endocrine-disruptive agents. Those interested should
