The primary purpose of this solicitation is to obtain expertise to operate and navigate logistical and technical research boats and equipment on the Colorado River in Glen and Grand Canyons. This expertise requires high familiarity with the specific study area, previous research involvement and proficiency in operating both government owned and leased boats; also, operating technical research equipment (electrofishing, hydrographic and surveying boats). Government requires that all boat operators have the proper certification and training according to Grand Canyon National Park Service regulations. Additionally, all boat operators must have prior operational experience, training and ability to navigate the extremely hazardous white-water rapids in Grand Canyon. A companion soicitation, 1425-97-40-21010, will be issued to cover transportation, food services, and equipment. Each solicitation must be requested separately.
