Rothe Development, Inc. is a = prime contactor for NASA JSC, in Houston, Texas. Rothe intends to = purchase one vacuum furnace with back purging capability via competitive = sealed bidding procedures. The furnace shall have the following = capabilities: (a) vacuum operations shall be accomplished through the = use of a diffusion pump; (b) vacuum operations shall be equal to, or = better than, 0.00001 Torr; =A9 furnace shall be capable of a rapid = quench with Argon as the inert gas; (d) furnace rate of leak rise shall = be less than 20 microns/hour; (e) interior furnace components shall be = all metal (preferably molybdenum), no ceramic or graphite is permitted; = (f) heating element shall be all metal (preferably Tungsten), no = ceramic or graphite is permitted; (g) upper temperature limit shall be = 2200 degrees F, minimum; (h) furnace capacity (volume) shall be = 12X12x18, minimum; (I) furnace shall meet qualification of Military = Specification, "Heat Treatment of Steel, Process For", MIL-H-6875.
