702-295-2324 BNC, the M&O Prime Contractor for DOE at the Nevada Test
Site, anticipates an RFP for the treatment of approximately 35,000 lbs
of soil contaminated with lead and radionuclides in order to comply
with the RCRA Land Disposal Restrictions for disposal. Proposers must
have the required permits to treat hazardous wastes and an NRC or
agreement state license to receive and manage radionuclides. Final
product(s) shall meet LDR, be recyclable, or no longer exhibit a
hazardous characteristic. BN is looking for potenial sources only at
this time. Interested responders are to submit verification that they
can meet the above requirements. The material consists of seven metal
boxes, approximately 100 cu. ft. each, containing soils contaminated
with lead and radionuclides. Two of the seven boxes contain visible
quantities of lead shot. All the boxes were sampled and analyses showed
TCLP levels above the RCRA threshold of 5.0 mg/L. Radionuclide
contamination includes Am-241, Cs-137, Sr-90, andplutonium, all less
than a nCi/gm in concentration. (0072) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0043 19970317\L-0002.SOL)
