FORT RICHARDSON/ELMENDORF AFB TECHNOLOGY EXPO There will be a technology expo at Fort Richardson/Elmendorf AFB on May 5&6, 1997 in Anchorage, AK. Elmendorf is home to the 11th Air Force, which is responsible for Eareckson AS King Salmon and Galena airports, the AlaskanNORAD Region Operations Control Center & 17 long range radar sites, including the Alaskan portion of the North Warning System. Fort Richardson is the Headquarters for U.S. Army Alaska. Additionally, the 59th Signal Batallion at Fort Richardson controls and operates the Wide Area Network (WAN). and all Automation for three Army posts in Alaska, including Fort Richardson, Fort Wainwright and Fort Greely.
