The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has a requirement for the furnishing of services necessary to provide storage and maintenance of Government-owned sera/specimens/freezers and provide transportation of Government-owned sera/specimens/freezers with pickup and delivery service from Bethesda, Rockville, and Frederick, Maryland. The Contractor's facility shall have floor space to accomodate up to 150 twenty cubic foot freezers. Within the same building, the Contractor shall have three (3) each -20 degree centigrade walk-in freezers having the dimensions of 12 feet x 20 feet; one (1) +4 degree centigrade with 100 cubic feet of space; and a back-up system equivalent to -20 degree centigrade and equivalent in size to 12 feet x 20 feet walk-in space equipped with independent dual compressor systems. The repository shall be equipped with a central alarm system. The Contractor shall provide one (1) senior-level laboratory technician to complete computerization of the inventories. The period of performance of this contract will be for one year with options renewable for four additional one year periods. This is a 100% setaside for small business concerns only. All requests for solicitation shall be in writing. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. See numbered Note 1. (0072)
