of California, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, seeks sources
for construction of Conventional Facilities' Construction Subcontract
Package No. 9 for the National Ignition Facility. Those companies who
have previously submitted their prequalification statement for this
package need not resubmit. Package No. 9, "Laser Building Build Out,
Site Work & Central Plant" is comprised of the build out of the Laser
Building including all concrete slabs on grade including mat slabs, all
elevated concrete slabs, concrete walls and roofs in the Laser
Building; the complete visitors center structure from foundation to
finishes, complete systems for electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire
protection, fire alarm, fireproofing, interior and exterior doors,
frames, hardware, access flooring, metal studs, and drywall, taping,
acoustical, painting, floor and wall finishes, bridge cranes,
elevators, all site utilities, all paved roadways and parking lots, all
curb and gutters, site lighting, landscaping,build out of the corridor
to the Optics Assembly Building including masonry exterior wall, all
cleaning and commissioning of the Laser Building, Visitors Center and
the Corridor to the Optics Assembly Building. The estimated price range
is between $50,000,000 and $80,000,000. LLNL has established an Owner
Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP), a Project Labor Agreement (PLA),
Alternative Disputes Resolution (ADR) processes and financial
incentives on this project. LLNL will pre-qualify all prime
construction subcontractors who perform work on conventional facilities
subcontracts. Firms responding to this announcement shall mail a
completed Contractor's Qualification Statement (AIA Document A305, 1986
edition) along with a one page narrative which describes their
abilities to perform work as described above. The narrative must
include the company's EMR for the last three (3) years and a
description of previous projects with similar aspects. All references
MUST include a current contact name that is familiar with the firm's
performance along with a current telephone number. A combination of
past performance history on similar projects of similar scope,
financial condition, bonding capacity, safety history, references, and
claims/litigation history will be used to evaluate and short list
candidates. The short listed companies will be requested to make a
presentation to project personnel regarding their qualifications. A
sufficient number of qualified subcontractors will then be chosen to
competitively bid this subcontract package. Those subcontractors who
fail to provide the AIA document and any required information will not
receive further consideration. Facsimile and telephone responses will
not be accepted. All qualification documents must be received no later
