E-MAIL: Click here to request hard copy, hq6591@smtp.nwscc.sea06.navy.mil. <PRE>The Navy requires one each injection/cast loading system which shall be manufactured in accordance with NAVSURFWARCENDIV performance specifications. The machine will be used to process developmental pyrotechnic materials. The system shall be capable of filling molds of various geometries with pyrotechnic slurries. The system shall be semi-automatic, and it must be capable of fitting through a 27" wide door opening. All components in the system shall be explosion proof rated according to any of the following recognized testing facilities or testing standards: UL, NEMA, NEC, or CSA. The minimum level of rating for each of the components which shall be certified by the testing facilities or testing standards specified in the previous sentence is as follows: Classification 1, Division 1, Group C,D; Classification 2, Division 1, Group F,G. The system shall be installed on a conductive, non-sparking handcart with caster wheels. The caster wheels shall have brakes or stops installed. The system shall use 4 molds per filling cycle, and the molds shall be of split-half type for ease of removal of product. The reservoir capacity of the system shall be a minimum of 2 gallons. The system shall require a maximum of 8 minutes to execute a single filly cycle (insertion of molds, filling, removal of filled molds). The system shall use positive pressure assistance and vacuum assistance to inject composition into molds. The system shall be capable of processing compositions with viscosities from 100,000 to 2,000,000 centipoise. The system shall provide for circulated water thermostatting of material awaiting injection (in the reservoir, etc). The customer will make provision for thermostatted water circulation. The system shall be remotely controlled from a control panel located outside the room in which the system is located. All parameters of the system performance, except for system temperature control, shall be controllable from this panel. Electrical, pneumatic and plumbing utilities of the system shall be capable of interfacing with NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane installation site utilities. Delivery is required F.O.B. destination to NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane within 180 days after effective date of the contract.
