behalf of the Office of the Surgeon General, intends to acquire ADP
software development and maintenance services through an Indefinite
Delivery Requirements contract using Fixed Labor rates against which
delivery orders will be placed. The proposed procurement includes
operational support and software maintenance, documentation, training
support, Engineering Change Proposals (ECP's), general enhancements,
maintenance, and strength management analysis of the project entitled
Medical Occupational Data System (MODS). MODS consists of an automated
personnel database serving as the Army Surgeon General's official
source of information on all Army Medical Department (AMEDD) personnel
management life cycle issues, military/civilian personnel
authorizations and inventory requirements, special pay, training,
readiness, board certification, and medical education for officers in
the Medical Corps, Army Nurse Corps, Army Medical Specialist Corps, and
Dental Corps. This information includes AMEDD active duty, Reserve
Component, National Guard, officer, enlisted, and civilian personnel.
MODS provides critical information to personnel/manpower policy makers,
functional managers, commanders, and consultants. The objective of this
project is to enable management to respond to changing conditions which
will permit cost effective options to play a key role in maintaining a
quality force of Army medical personnel. MODS will primarily service
users assigned to OTSG, the US Army Medical Command (MEDCOM), AMEDD
Center and School, US Total Army Personnel Command (PERSCOM), US Forces
Command (FORSCOM), Defense Finance Accounting System (DFAS), and AMEDD
Personnel Proponency Directorate (APPD). The procurement will include
a base year and four (4) option periods. DASW01-97-R-0045 will be
released approximately 30 days from date of release of this notice.
This is a recompete of Contract Number MDA903-93-D-0045. The incumbent
contractor is ASM Research, Inc. The proposed procurement is 100% set
aside for small business concerns. Written requests only. Telephonic
