This is a modification to the synopsis entitled NEXT GENERATION SPACE TELESCOPE (NGST) LIGHTWEIGHT MIRROR SYSTEM DEMONSTRATOR, which was posted on March 4, 1997. You are notified that the following changes are made: 1) It is anticipated that multiple awards will be made not to exceed approximately $4.965M, with each contract including a base period of approximately 3 months, one option period of approximately 15 months, and a second option period of approximately 5 months. The maximum award available per contract will be $265K for the basic effort, $1.7M for first option period, and $3M for the second option period. 2) A second option period, which focuses on cryogenic and dynamic testing of the primary mirror system demonstrator, is added. 3) Information regarding the NGST is available at URL: http://ngst.gsfc.nasa.gov including a very preliminary draft SOW.
