Provide Architect/Engineer services to PROVIDE SPRINKLER PROTECTION at the VA Western New York Healthcare System, Batavia, NY. Work includes, but is not limited to: production of construction documents, performance of construction period services and site visits, asbestos assessment of affected areas and air monitoring, consulation/meetings/discussions with staff to establish specific program requirements. Plans/specifications will include provisions for demolition, relocation of new equipment and fixtures, installation of electrical power (emergency and normal), extension of existing utilities, replacement of non-compliant valves/tamper switches, replacement of existing sprinkler head, installation of new sprinkler system to areas not protected, smoke detectors, and "shunt trips" in main building elevators and Bldg. 5 elevator. A system-wide hydraulic analysis for "risers" only is required. All work will be accomplished in accordance with the Scope of Work. NOTE: THIS ACQUISITION IS SET-ASIDE FOR EMERGING SMALL BUSINESS under SIC 8712-Architectural Services. An emerging small business is defined as a business whose size is no greater than 50% of the numerical size standard applied to the SIC code assigned. The numerical size standard for SIC 8712 is $2.5 million. This acquisition is ALSO limited to firms located within a 95 mile radius of the VAWNYHS-Batavia, NY. A firm-fixed price contract is anticipated to be awarded. All interested parties are invited to submit qualifications to the Contracting Officer in the form of SFs 254/255. Firms should include all relevant information regarding past projects designed which are similar in type to this project and which will serve to highlight relevant qualifications and experience.
