Provide Architect/Engineer services to EXPAND FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS at the VA Western New York Healthcare System, Buffalo, NY. Work includes, but is not limited to: production of construction documents, performance of construction period services and site visits, asbestos assessment of affected areas and air monitoring, consultation/meetings/discussions with staff to establish the specific program requirements. Plans/specifications will include provisions for relocation of new equipment and fixtures, installation of electrical power (emergency and normal), fire protection, demolition, minor removals of portions of walls/ceilings, finishes, modifications to existing utilities to accommodate new arrangements and equipment, replacement of limited existing sprinkler heads, extension of fire protection to currently unprotected areas (including Bldg. 6, Engineering, Laundry areas, E-Wing basement, 1st-3rd floors), sprinklers, smoke detectors, "shunt trips" for 10 main elevators. A system-wide hydraulic analysis for "risers" only is also required. All work shall be performed in accordance with the Scope of Work. NOTE: This acquisition is limited to firms located within a 95 mile radius of the VAWNYHS, Buffalo, NY. Otherwise, this acquisition is unrestricted (meaning that any firm can apply regardless of business size). A firm-fixed price contract is anticipated to be awarded. All interested parties are invited to submit qualifications to the Contracting Officer in the form of SFs 254/255. Please ensure that all required information is submitted and accurate. Firms should include all relevant information regarding past projects designed which are similar in type to this project and will serve to highlight relevant qualifications and experience.
