Services will include receipt of laboratory animals; feeding/watering of animal; sanitation/cleaning of animal cages and equipment off-site; sanitation/cleaning of animal facilities; animals health surveillance by observation; handling and restraint of animals; maintenance of specific pathogen-free mouse colony; maintenance of equipment; supply of inventories and on-call veterinary diagnostic/treatment services. It is expected that the period of performance will be one year from date of award with four one-year option periods. Before undertaking performance of any contract involving the use of laboratory animals, the contractor shall be in compliance with Animal Welfare Act (P.L. 91-579), as amended by P.L. 94-279 and P.L. 99-158; and "Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals" DHEW Pub.
