S -- The Social Security Administration is interested in receiving quotes for the services of a qualified contractor to provide management, supervision, labor, materials, supplies and equipment to perform turf, tree, shrub and ground cover maintenance at the Federal Building, 1150 East Mountain Drive, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. The period of performance shall be one year with four 1-year options. A firm-fixed-price purchase order will be awarded, with an anticipated performance start date of June 11, 1997. A site visit to view the grounds will be held at the Wilkes-Barre facility on April 1, 1997 at 9:00 a.m. Landscaping layouts will be distributed at the site visit. The acquisition will be subject to Part 12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) regarding the acquisition of Commercial Items, to FAR Part 13.6 regarding the Application of Special Simplified Procedures to Certain Commercial Items, and to the principles of past performance evaluation as covered by FAR 15.605. The Government will evaluate quotes for the "best value" based on price, experience, and past performance. The acquisition will also be subject to the conditions of the Service Contract Act.
