notice rescinds the February 7, 1997, Commerce Business Daily notice
that placed the construction of a new Plant Stress and Water
Conservation Laboratory, Phase II at Lubbock, Texas, on hold. The U.S.
Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, via this
notice, shall again solicit bids for this project. It is the intent of
the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, to
advertise for the purposes of constructing a new Plant Stress and
Water Conservation Laboratory, Phase II, at Lubbock, Texas.
Approximately 62,000 square foot building will be constructed which
provides two research wings connected to a central administrative space
of the building for the ARS staff to accomplish research on plant
stress and water conservation. The estimated cost of construction for
this project is between $10,000,000 and $12,000,000. Solicitation
packages shall be available on or about March 28, 1997. The bid
documents will be provided at no cost to bidders by Parkhill, Smith,
and Cooper, Inc., 4010 Avenue R, Lubbock, Texas 79412. The point of
