Project includes: clearing & grubbing; construction survey & staking; contractor sampling & testing; 67 cuyd structural concrete; 80 cuyd untreated aggregate courses; 72 lnft structural plate structures; 40 cuyd excavation & embankment; 2,500 cuyd structural excavation; 120 sqyd earthwork geotextiles; 6,900 lb reinforcing steel; 60 hrs rental equipment; 115 cuyd riprap; removal of one 36" culvert; 1 acre turf establishment. Project is located approximately 9 miles west of Glendale, Oregon in the Medford BLM District. Work shall be completed by September 19, 1997. Estimated price range is between $100,000 and $250,000. Presolicitation Notices are being provided to firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently with the publication of this synopsis. -- -- The following applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
