Contracting Officer Correction: This action originally publicized in
the CBD dated 2/14/97 was corrected on amendments dated 2/19/97,
3/5/97, 3/11/97 and 3/14/97. This is the fifth amendment. Include with
your proposal acknowledgement of all amendments by date. The closing
date is extended to 3/28/97. Any questions received after 3/21/97, 4
p.m. HST, will not be considered. Incorporate the following into Item
6) of the specification: "Ninety-five percent of the surface shall be
sandblasted to the equivalent to a near white metal blast as specified
by the steel structures painting council (SSPC-SP-10). Paint each unit
using a two-part epoxy paint which shall include primer and top coat.".
Revise the statement on page 2 of 4 of the specification from ". . .
hopper discharge shall include connecting flex hose and 55 gal drum
cover." to ". . . hopper discharge shall include sliding steel blast
gate valve, connecting flex hose and 55 gal drum cover.". Incorporate
the following into the specification: "If the dust collectors are
partially assembled for shipment, they shall be designed and shipped in
such good condition that the reassembly by Government personnel shall
not require more than 8 manhours to assemble each machine. At his
option and expense, contractor may have representative present during
assembly.". The following is for clarification purposes: No aluminum or
magnesium parts shall come in contact with the dust laden air stream.
This includes the blower and its component parts in the air stream. All
other information publicized in the original synopsis is correct.
