a complete restatement of the DESCRIPTION OF MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS found
on the combined Synopsis/Solicitation uploaded to the CBD Internet Web
Site on 24 Feb 97 and printed in the paper copy of the CBD on 27 Feb
97 and the MINIMUM REQUIREMENT CHARACTERISTICS found on the Amendment
0001 uploaded to the CBD Internet Web Site on 4 Mar 97 and printed in
the paper copy of the CBD on 6 March 97. This DESCRIPTION OF MINIMUM
REQUIREMENTS supercedes the Synopsis/Solicitation and Amendment 001.
All proposals shall acknowledge the Synopsis/Solicitation, Amendment
0001 and Amendment 0002. Response date for receipt of proposals is
extended to 24 Mar 97. Any proposals received prior to this amendment
will be held in this office unopened. DESCRIPTION OF MINIMUM
REQUIREMENTS: TYPE -- Industrial Storage, for nominal 36 volt batteries
used on forklifts and pallet trucks; SIZE -- A Lead Acid 18 cells
720-850 Ah (1) Charger shall be Underwriters Laboratory (UL) listed
"Industrial Battery Charger", "for indoor use only" per UL Standard for
Safety, UL 1564. Corrosion protection requirements in accordance with
paragraph 9 of UL 1564. Charger design shall provide a reverse polarity
protection device to prevent damage in the event the charging circuit
is connected with the polarity reversed. The polarity of the output
leads shall be plainly indicated by the words "positive" and
"negative", the signs "+" for positive and "-" for negative, OR color
coding of red for positive and black for negative. UL Listing No. must
be provided with proposal, or prior to award of contract. (2) Input
Power: 220 volts AC +/- 10% -- 440 volts AC +/- 10%; 47-63 Hz; 3 Phase.
(3) Output Power:36 volts DC +/- 5% at a minimum of 136 Amps. (4).
Cables: Input Power Cable: not less than 9', 4 conducter, unterminated.
Output Power Cable: not less than 8' terminated with a standard 36 volt
DC connector. (5) Charger shall be capable of charging a battery of 36
volts DC 850 Ah in 8 hrs max, and shall automatically shut off
charging current when battery is fully charged. (6) Commercial
Warranty: A commercial warranty for at least one year shall be
provided. Warranty wording shall be provided in the proposal and
included with each unit. (7) MARKING: in lieu of manufacturers
commercial product marking, the charger shall be marked in a six line
format with text that is centered as follows: US Army;
Communications-Electronics Command; CECOM; PP-2926F/U; Industrial
Battery Charger; NSN 6130-XX-XXX-XXXX (provided after contract award).
Charger shall also contain a nameplate which shall contain the
following information: National Stock Number, Manufacturer and Model
Number, Contract Number, and Serial Number. (8) Each charger shall be
provided with an instruction manual (ref. UL 1236, par 46) which shall
reflect the PP-2926F/U as model number in lieu of commercial model
number. Except as stated herein, all other and terms and conditions of
