The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport, RI, intends to issue a draft solicitation on 24 March 1997 with a closing date of 09 May 1997 for engineering services related to the development, evaluation and documentation of submarine sonar systems. The primary scope of work is submarine sonar processing improvements and their effects on display operability. Specific tasks will include sonar algorithm design and development, sonar modeling and simulation and sea test validation and data analysis . A five (5) year, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity type contract with cost plus fixed fee provisions is anticipated. Total level of effort is estimated at 232,575 manhours. Appropriate comments received to the draft solicitation will be incorporated into a formal solicitation which will be released in June 1997. Firms requesting a copy of the draft solicitation will automatically be sent a copy of the formal solicitation which will be separately synopsized.
