No. (215) 233-6558. The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), has
a requirement to close one (1) 28,000-gallon underground fuel oil
storage tank in place and to remove all its ancillary piping and
utilities at the Plum Island Animal Disease Center in Plum Island, New
York. Contractors are advised that Plum Island is a quarantine
research facility that is restricted to the general public. The
facility is located approximately 1-1/2 miles off the northeast tip of
Long Island. Transportation incidental to the performance of this work
may be provided by Government-furnished boats. The estimated cost of
construction is between $25,000 and $100,000. This project must be
completed within 60 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed.
Request for Quote No. 06-3615-97 contains further information and
specifications and will be available on or about April 3, 1997.
Requests for a copy of the RFQ should be in writing, contain the
company's telephone and fax numbers, and be received in the CO's office
