54 -- 60' ANTENNA TOWER SOL N00421-97-Q-5311 DUE 031997 POC Betty Doxey, Contracting Officer, (301) 862-8950, Fax No. (301) 862-8342. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division has a requirement for 1 each of a 60' Antenna Tower. The work includes the design, manufacture and delivery of a steel tower to support antennas and related equipment with two steel platforms at 45 and 60 feet complete and ready to assemble. The antenna tower shall be constructed of steel with two steel platforms, one each at levels of 45 feet and 60 feet above the ground surface. Both platforms shall be surrounded by safety rails adequate to prevent accidentals falls. The 60-foot level platform shall be the highest point of the tower and shall have an unobstructed view. The platform shall be 13' -- 0" in diameter capable of holding and mounting one Antenna Group OE-120/UPX circular antenna array, one AS-2188/U linear antenna mounted on Antenna Pedestal AB-1206/UPA-57, and miscellaneous small antennas. The 45-foot level platform shall extend out from the east side of the tower. The 45-foot level external platform shall be 10' 0" wide by 10' -- 0" long minimum to hold and mount one AS-2188/U linear antenna mounted on Antenna Pedestal AB-1206/UPA-57, and miscellaneous small antennas. The 60-foot steel platform shall support a minimum live load consisting of one OE-120/UPX circular antenna of 1,000 pounds mounted on the platform edge and one AS-2188/U linear antenna mounted on Antenna Pedestal AB-1206/UPA-57 (300 lbs total) in the center of the platform. Equipment to be installed without a specific location includes Antennas AS-177B/UPX (50 lbs), test equipment (250 lbs), RF and antenna control cables (200 lbs), and miscellaneous equipment (250 lbs). The total live load of the platform is a minimum of 2,050 lbs. The 45-foot steel platform shall support a minumum live load consisting of one AS-2188/U linear antenna mounted on Antenna Pedestal AB-1206/UPA-57 (300 lbs total) on the outer edge of the platform. Equipment to be installed without a specific location includes Antennas AS-177B/UPX (50 lbs), test equipment (250 lbs), RF and antenna control cables (200 lbs), and miscellaneous equipment (250 lbs). The total live load of the platform is a minimum of 1,050 lbs. The tower shall support a minimum live load of 300 pounds for the mounting of various RF and control cables to the platforms. Aircraft safety lights and an access ladder with saftey rail shall be provided and mounted by the contractor in accordance with applicable safety codes, and shall not interfere with equipment operation or rotation. A ladder with safety rail shall provide access from the ground to both platforms. Drawings will be included with the RFQ. Delivery is required FOB Distination to Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Bldg. 125, St. Inigoes, MD within 180 days after award.
