66 -- HIGH ACCURACY AUTOMATIC AUTOCOLLIMATOR SOL F33660-97-R7500 DUE 051297 POC Janet Casler, Buyer, 614-788-5041, Debra Luckeydoo, Contracting Officer 614-788-5042 The instrument being purchased is a High Accuracy Automatic Autocollimator with a digital readout of angle and computer interface. The instrument will have Two Axis Capability to measure two orthogonal axes simultaneously through a single aperature. The item will have an acquisition range of 60 arc-minutes or greater at close range. Each autocollimator will include an optical sighting aid to assist in the rough alignment of the autocollimator beam to the mirror. The lens aperture will be at least 50 mm. The item will have a digital display of the angle for each axis, with readability equal to the maximum resolution of the instrument. The display will read directly in arc-seconds. The angle indicator range will be equal to the measurement range of the instrument. The autocollimator will have the following sign convention -- Horizontal (X-axis), from the view point of the autocollimator looking toward the mirror, a rotation of the mirror such that the right side moves toward the autocollimator and theleft side moves away from the autocollimator will cause the measured angle indication to increase. Vertical (Y-axis) from the view point of the autocollimator looking toward the mirror, a rotation of the mirror such that the top moves toward the autocollimator and the bottom moves away from the autocollimator will cause the measured angle indication to increase. Instrument will have a level indicator on the optical sensing unit of the system that will indicate the level of the horizontal axis of the unit. The level will be aligned parallel to the horizontal axis to at least 5 arc-minutes, and have a sensitivity of at least 1 arc-minute. The instrument must be fully operable in both a completely manual mode and a completely remotely controlled mode. All values, controls, and features of the instrument must be accessible either to a manual operator or to a remote computer. The autocollimator will communicate with the remote computer via an RS232c interface. The interface will operate at 2400 baud or faster. The measurement display and all front panel operations (except line power) will be available to the remote computer via the interface. The autocollimator will have an angle resolution of 0.01 seconds or better in both axes. Both visual and electronic indication of angle will have an inaccuracy no greater than +or- 0.01 seconds over a +or- 10 seconds range, and +or- 0.05 seconds over a +or- 150 seconds range when the aperture is masked down to as little as 12.5 mm diameter. The autocollimator will indicate the absolute angle of the monitored mirror from its line of sight at all times that it is within range of the instrument. The measurement updated rate will be 2 Hz or faster. The instrument will regain its angle reference without loss of accuracy if the line of sight is blocked temporarily. The instrument must be supplied with a certification from either NIST, PTB in Germany, or NPL in England that the autocollimator meets the accuracy requirements. Input power requirements are 115 VMRS +or- 10% 50 to 60 Hz nominal. All accessories necessary of normal operation of the equipment will be supplied. Quantity to be purchased is 2 EA. FOB Destination. Delivery will be 180 calendar days after contract award. Request for Proposal will be issued approximately 9 Apr 97, closing approx 9 May 97. All solicitaiton requests must be in writing. Verbal requests will not be honored. Fax request is acceptable at 614-788-5020. (0078)
