205-955-1187 The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is a market
survey to determine the existence of other sources. The proposed
contract effort will include, but is not to be limited to the
following: The contractor shall implement a program to analyze the
current technology of radiation hardened, cryogenic, infrared filters,
and to advance the state-of-the-art in radiation hardened, cryogenic,
infrared filter technology to meet current and future ballistic
missile defense program needs. The contractor will have the capability
of performing limited in house cryogenic, radiation testing and be
able to interface with appropriate government agencies to obtain
comprehensive cryogenic, radiation test data. The contractor shall have
access to the necessary expertise in material science to understand
filter failure mechanisms and to develop advances in material
technology to negate such failures. The contractor shall be able to
take any advancements made in radiation hardened, cryogenic, infrared
filter technology, and apply to a specific system design as directed by
the government. A current SECRET facility and storage clearance will be
required for performance. This action is not open to allied
participation. Interested parties who believe they can perform this
requirement are invited to submit a written narrative statement of
capability. The above information must be submitted in writing within
(15) days after publication of this notice to U.S. Army Strategic
Defense Command, ATTN: Diana McCown, CSSD-CM-CT, P.O. Box 1500,
