This project is to repair the compressed air distribution system for NASA Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards California 93523-0273. The work to be performed under this project consists of providing all the labor, material, and equipment to replace the entire compressed air site distribution system outside all of the buildings requiring compressed air and replace two existing air compressors in Building 4820 and one air compressor in Building 4886 and their appurtenances. This procurement is being conducted under the NASA MidRange Pilot Test Program approved by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $500,000.00 -- $1 million and the effort shall be completed within 184 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is a total small business set-aside labor surplus area. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for the procurement is 1711. The corresponding size standard is $17 million. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about March 28, 1997 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about April 29, 1997. The firm date for receipt of offers will be stated in the RFO. Drawings will be available from the identified point of contact. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed. See Note "B".
